My First Day Of College Essay

On my first day of college, I was incredibly nervous about multiple obstacles I was about to face. One of my biggest worries was how I would manage to pass a college English class. However, when I walked into the classroom and saw my old high school classmates Jace and Lauren, I became a bit more comfortable. I was also relieved to discover that the class was very small, unlike my prior belief the teacher was not scary at all. In my early high school years, English class was quite easy for me. Before my senior year, I was always in the honors classes and had no problem making an A. Though, when I look back on those earlier high school years my teachers were not that great and did not really help my writing techniques. I feel pretty confident to say they probably never read the papers, but just put a decent grade to keep everyone’s parents from complaining. Therefore, up until my senior year I thought I was an awesome writer. When I reached my senior year, I decided to drop honors because I had heard the teacher was difficult. The rumors were all true because she was incredibly difficult. There were moments throughout the year when I had a big fat F average, which I had never seen before. She was very strict about writing. She had a specific layout, and if it were not followed exactly how she wanted, you would fail the assignment. In her class there was no creativity, everything was structured and boring.
