This report is about the “Excluded Middle”. When talking about worldview one point of view someone may think God and Human when, in fact, this can be categorized as seen and unseen. The excluded middle, though, can be explained to someone by explaining that this is how someone can bridge the gap between the spiritual world and the earth today. Many people groups and religions show this bridge in different ways, such as worship. How do you define worship is a very tricky subject dependent of various aspects. Dutch humanist, Desiderius Erasmus, (1466-1536) once said, “Every definition is dangerous.” Although many people have tried to interpret, one states “Worship is the believer’s response of all that they are – mind, emotions, will, body – to what God is and says and does.” (Warren Wiersbe, Real Worship, p. 26). This is from a Christian perspective, but I feel you grasp the general concept. Though I believe this to be a good definition to get a perception on the idea to obtain a better sense of knowledge one must look into every religion’s worship practices and the “Excluded Middle”. You must look into their everyday life and see how it affects the individual. Folk Religion is very often referred to as being “under the umbrella of a religion” but to following official doctrines and practices. “Examples of folk religions include African traditional religions, Chinese folk religions, Native American religions and Australian aboriginal religions.”(Pew Research Center).
